How to Participate in Public Comment

Members of the public are invited to address the City Council during the designated Public Comment portion of the meeting.

Here’s how:

  • Sign-Up: Persons wishing to speak must sign up in person prior to the start of the meeting.
  • Time Limit: Each speaker is limited to 6 minutes.
  • Topics: Comments may be made on items listed on the agenda or on matters of public concern not on the agenda.
  • Rules: Comments should be directed to the Council and not to other members of the public. The Council may curtail disruptive or offensive remarks.
  • Written Comments: Individuals who cannot attend may submit written comments in advance to be included in the meeting record. Mail to: Public Comments at City of Wewoka, PO Box 1427, Wewoka, OK 74884 or email: cityhall@wewokaok.gov.

Notice: City Council Meetings are posted 48 hours in advance at The City and conducted in accordance with the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act, and all members of the public are welcome to attend.
