Wewoka City Manager

Municipal Government

“The City of Wewoka is committed to putting people first, building trust, and always improving how we serve our community—together. Our greatest strength is the pride we share in this place we call home.”

Rebecca Stone, City Manager

The City of Wewoka is proud of our history. Our community was founded by a group of Seminole Freedmen in 1849 under the principles of freedom and self-governance, and later became the Seminole Nation’s capital after the Civil War. The oil boom of the 1920s turned our city into a bustling hub of commerce, leaving a lasting legacy as a historic boomtown.
